What is Cookidoo®, and how does it help you cook every day? A simple guide to guided recipes, the weekly planner and the shopping list.
Many people ask me: "What is Cookidoo® exactly?" The short answer: it is the official recipe platform for the Thermomix®, made by Vorwerk. It works on your phone, your computer and directly on the Thermomix screen.
Let me explain the main parts in simple words.
A huge library of recipes
Cookidoo has a very large collection of recipes from many countries. You can find quick weeknight dinners, breads, desserts, drinks, baby food and much more. You can search by ingredient, by time or by type of dish. There are also recipes from Middle Eastern cuisine, which is nice for families here in the Gulf.
Guided recipes: the machine helps you
This is the heart of Cookidoo. When you open a recipe on your Thermomix, it guides you step by step:
- ✅ It tells you what to put in the bowl and how much.
- ✅ It weighs as you add.
- ✅ It sets the time, temperature and speed for you.
- ✅ You press start, and it does the rest.
You don't need to remember anything. It is perfect for beginners, and also for busy days.
The weekly planner
With the planner, you choose your recipes for the week and put them on the days you want. On Sunday evening, for example, you plan your meals in a few minutes. Then each day, you already know what to cook. No more "What do we eat tonight?"
The shopping list
When you add recipes to your planner, Cookidoo can make a shopping list for you. It groups the ingredients together, so you buy only what you need. You can open the list on your phone at the supermarket. Less waste, less time in the shop.
Collections and favourites
You can save the recipes you love in your own collections, like "Family dinners" or "Ramadan". This way, your best recipes are always one click away.
How does the subscription work?
Cookidoo works with a subscription. A new Thermomix usually comes with a free trial period, so you can try it before you decide. After that, you can choose to subscribe to keep full access to the guided recipes and features. Offers and conditions can change by country, so I am happy to explain the current options for the UAE or Qatar when you contact me.
Is Cookidoo necessary?
No, you can always cook manually with your Thermomix. But Cookidoo makes daily cooking much easier, especially at the beginning. For many families, it quickly becomes a daily habit.
